The Library’s exhibition area is in the Ex Libris Hall on the 2nd floor, and the entrance hall is used only exceptionally for exhibitions. The Library’s own changing exhibitions are also displayed in the showcases on the 1st and 2nd floor.

Permanent Exhibitions in the Library

  • Old service desk of the Jyväskylä Research Library, 1912-1936 (Ex Libris Hall, 2nd floor)
  • Timeline of the history of the Jyväskylä University Library (Ex Libris Hall, 2nd floor)
  • Isa Asp (1853-1872), the first Finnish lyric poetess (2nd floor bookcase)
  • Library's bookcase of the Finnish Teacher College in Jyväskylä (1863-1912), sample of the book collection in the original shelf classification (Group Work Room, 3rd floor)

Exhibitions are open during library opening hours.

Booking Space and Facilities for Events and Exhibitions

Events and exhibitions from outside the Library have to be related to the University functions or studies. Outside organizers must see to all the arrangements themselves. To maintain the working peace for everybody only small-scale events can be arranged in the Library.

Permission is always required for events arranged in the Library.
