5000 deposited articles in JYX

The collection of self-archived articles in the institutional repository JYX continues to grow rapidly. JYX has reached the borderline of 5000 articles written by the researchers affiliated with the University of Jyväskylä.

The 5000th article in JYX was Musical Preference: Personality, Style, and Music Use (in The Routledge Companion to Music Cognition, Routledge 2017) written by PhD Jonna Vuoskoski. Her article focuses on music taste and its underlying determinants, such as personality, music style and features, as well as the listening habits.

Vuoskoski is currently working as an associate professor at the University of Oslo. She graduated (PhD) from the University of Jyväskylä in 2012. After her graduation, she moved to the University of Oxford. From 2014 onwards, Vuoskoski worked also as a postdoctoral researcher (50 %) at the University of Jyväskylä.

Jonna Vuoskoski views open science very important.

- The transparency of research is a necessity, as well as the principles of equal access to research results. In addition, openness has a significant positive impact on the effectiveness of research, she states.

Vuoskoski's article is open in JYX after the 18-month embargo. During this time, the article is available by using the Request a copy link. The request service was launched in JYX last year. Since then, plenty of requests have already been passed to researchers.
