Come to the European Researchers' Night!

European Researchers' Night on Friday, Sep 29th, 2017

You know the museum. You know the library. But what happens, when these two unique forces unite? We took a chance and tried that. Open Science Centre, the coalition of the JYU Library and Museum, brings science close to you.

Come and find out how good you are at information seeking and assessing. Which animal do you resemble as an information seeker? Or become an ecologist, spot and identify mammals caught in our trail camera photographs. We are also on a hunt for wikipedists to collect information about our beautiful Seminaarinmäki. At the Natural History Museum you will learn how to turn your garden or balcony nature-friendly. Our special exhibition tells you the multiphased story of the Finnish flag. In the library basement you will feel not only the presence of our rumored ghost but the gleam caused by the daunting and X-rated material from the past.
