Library pick-up point open until Friday 26 February 1 PM – Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne libraries will open on Monday 1 March

The pick-up point in Mattilanniemi open until Friday 26 February 1 PM

  • Requesting books to the pick-up point will be stopped gradually.
    • Requests from Ylistönrinne library will be stopped on Wednesday 24 February and from Mattilanniemi on Thursday 25 February.
  • Orders from the Depository Collection in Kanavuori are delivered until Tuesday 23 February. After that the next time orders are delivered is on Monday 1 March, when our libraries are opened.

Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne libraries will open on Monday 1 March

  • Self-service loan and return stations are in use.
  • You cannot request a book that is available on the shelf. You have to collect those books from the shelf yourself as before.
  • The return hatch in Mattilanniemi (building MaA) is open around the clock. Materials returned through the hatch during evenings and weekends are processed on the next working day.
  • Materials from the Depository Collection cannot be borrowed for home loan any more, but can be used in Mattilanniemi library.

Please return any items you have at home from the Depository Collection on 1 March at the latest. If you still need the materials, you can get a storage place in Mattilanniemi library.

Limited use of the Library facilities

Jyväskylä is still in the acceleration phase of the coronavirus and we follow JYU guidelines.

Under current restrictions JYU students and staff can

  • use only materials from the Depository Collection and use the digital archive and microfilm scanner (room MaA225). Otherwise the Library working spaces are not in use.
  • print, copy and scan in the first floor lobby of building MaA. The University printing service is also still in use.

Other than JYU students and staff cannot use the library facilities.

Please keep your library visits as short as possible.

  • Please remember to maintain safe distances and use a mask and hand sanitizer that is available in the libraries.
  • Please do not come to the library if you have any symptoms of a respiratory infection.

Library cards

If you are a student or staff of JYU and do not have a library card, you can apply for one via this online form. To fill the form, you need to have some other library card or a JYU staff ID so that you can fill in the barcode on the form.

Please note that you do not need a library card to access e-materials.

University printing service

Printing is possible only for JYU students. Instructions for the printing service:

  • Send the files you want to print to the following e-mail address: (max. 100 pages).
  • Mention your name and how you want the printouts to be delivered:
    • If you want them mailed to you, to which address. The delivery time will depend on Posti.
    • If you will pick up the printouts from building MaA. You can pick up the printouts after two days of the confirmation e-mail at the earliest. The printouts can be picked up from the library pick-up point until Friday 26 February 1 PM. Starting from Monday 1 March the printouts can be picked up from the customer service of Mattilanniemi library during service hours.
