Take part in research skills training this spring!

Welcome to training provided by Open Science Centre! Doctoral students, researchers and other personnel are welcome to our English courses and lectures. Most were offered in March.

Courses continue next autumn.

You can also book a tailored training session or info sessions for doctoral seminars or research projects. Help is available e.g. for opening research data and metadata – tailored clinics are also available for faculties:

  • Data Converis Clinic: open and publish your metadata
    • At Data Converis Clinics (90 to 120 mins according to agreement), we go through the practical steps of how a researcher files the descriptive metadata of their new research dataset in Converis, and how it gets published. Filing and publishing the metadata fulfills the Open Science requirements of research funders and the University whenever the data themselves cannot be made publicly available due to e.g. data privacy. It eases the everyday work of the researcher, as the core information of new datasets gets documented in time. The faculty also accumulates valuable information of the datasets created under its roof. The duration of the Clinic is 90 to 120 minutes according to agreement.
    • The Clinic is suited for all researchers who are starting or have just started data collection, as well as for those who already have a metadata entry in Converis and want to finish it for publication.
  • Open Data Clinic: publish your dataset
    • The Open Data Clinic (90 to 120 mins according to agreement) is suited for all researchers who have a ready dataset that they want to publish. All anonymous and anonymised datasets can be published. At the Clinic, the participants get assistance in how to practically prepare their data for publication in the University’s data archive, JYX.
